Passive IR sensor

Image
ðŸ‘‹Hi, I have discussed about basic of Infrared. If you not seen it Click the below link   Introduction to IR Sensor . This blog talks about Passive IR sensor. Let us start with basic example to known about Passive IR sensor. We all Seen digital thermometer in hospital to measure the body temperature. Let us understand the working of Thermometer. WORKING:      The digital thermometer which uses photodiode which is sensitive to infrared light only and produce electrical signal depending on the amount of Infrared. Infrared light are scattered from body and we need to focus the infrared into the photodiode. The radiation focused on lens not only contains IR also other radiation were removed using filter. The electrical signal generated is directly proportional to heat of the object. MEDICAL APPLICATION: *Non contact temperature measurement OTHER APPLICATION : There is a sensor called PIR sensor for detecting motion. This is also work on same principle but it u...

Active IR Sensor

Image
ðŸ‘‹Hi, In my Last Blog I have discussed about basic of Infrared. If you not seen it Click the below link   Introduction to IR Sensor . This blog talks about Active IR sensor. Let us start with basic example to known about Active IR sensor. We all known about Automatic hand sanitizer in hospital. You known that it uses IR sensor to detect the object for touch free nozzle opening. First we discuss about working of Active IR sensor in Automatic hand sanitizer to know how sensor helps in dispensing.  WORKING: In the above image you can able to see that the emitter produces the Infrared but there is no object(Hand) to reflect back the Infrared. So, There is no output in the nozzle.  But you can see in the above image the Infrared is reflected bact to the detector. This signal in the detector triggers the micro pump to push out the liquid or open the valve in the nozzle. This is how a IR sensor helpful in Automatic dispensing mechanism.  MEDICAL APPLICATION: *Aut...

Sensors used in day to day life

Image
Hi Everyone 👋👋 Let's start to know how sensors helps to solve problems and How it can be working  First I like to start with very beginning with IR (Infrared Sensor) 🤔 What is Infrared?? Let's take a look at the above image where we can find infrared having longer wavelength than visible light. It is also a kind of radiation which cannot be seen by naked eye because human eye can visualise the radiation within visible light range. IR are radiation which is produced by all objects in form of Heat. This radiation helps in identifying temperature using Digital Thermometer. Types of Infrared Sensor   * Active sensor - Need source of emitter (Eg: IR LED) *Passive   sensor - Do Need source of emitter  Working of IR sensor  Active sensor  The above image gives clarity about working of active IR sensor. The detector contains photodiode captures IR signal and transmitted it into electric signal which is proportional to received radiation. The photodiode is ...
