Let us start with basic example to known about Active IR sensor.

We all known about Automatic hand sanitizer in hospital. You known that it uses IR sensor to detect the object for touch free nozzle opening. First we discuss about working of Active IR sensor in Automatic hand sanitizer to know how sensor helps in dispensing.

 WORKING:

In the above image you can able to see that the emitter produces the Infrared but there is no object(Hand) to reflect back the Infrared. So, There is no output in the nozzle. 

But you can see in the above image the Infrared is reflected bact to the detector. This signal in the detector triggers the micro pump to push out the liquid or open the valve in the nozzle. This is how a IR sensor helpful in Automatic dispensing mechanism. 

MEDICAL APPLICATION:

*Automatic Gate opening in OT.

*Automatic dispensing of sanitizer.

*Automatic opening of Dustbin.

ADVANTAGES :

 This sensor plays a important in prevent contamination of diseases from one person to another.
